1. St Cuthberts Way
St Cuthberts Way. A long-distance path established in 1996, St Cuthbert's Way traces the footsteps of the 7th century saint who spread the Gospel through Scotland and northern England, performing many healing miracles along his way. From Melrose in the Scottish Borders, where St Cuthbert's ministry began, the trails ends at Lindisfarne (Holy Island) in England, where he died on the nearby Inner Farne in AD 687.
