1. University of Oxford
Oxford is a unique and historic institution. As the oldest English-speaking university in the world, it lays claim to eight centuries of continuous existence. There is no clear date of foundation, but teaching existed at Oxford in some form in 1096 and developed rapidly from 1167, when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris.

2. Staffordshire University
Staffordshire University is a large university with approximately 15,000 full-time and 2500 part-time students. It is situated on three main campuses, Stoke, Stafford and Lichfield. The School of Health's nursing and midwifery provision is located at Stafford, Shrewsbury, Telford and Oswestry. In addition, the University has some 5000 students studying overseas on Staffordshire University awards in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Greece, Spain and France.
